Glen,
I also have the mentioned GDO's as well as several others such as B&W, Paco
and a European Philips tube version. I use them regularly.
You are a respected and experienced contributor to this and other lists.
Would you care to expand on your reasoning on your preferred uses for the
several models?

This "new" Yahoo E-Mail system doesn't allow editing replies and, as such, causes problems with the length of the reply. Therefore, I am having to basically copy the important things and sending a new message.
The primary reason for using a different GDO is the size of the area in which the tuned circuit is located. Especially on the highest frequency range, getting the GDO coil near enough to get a reading, the actual size of the GDO housing can be a limiting factor.
The oscillator head on the Measurements 59 is larger than the Millen 90651A which, in turn, is larger than the Heath GD-1 or GD-1B. Since the coil for the highest frequency range is very small (when compared to the other ranges), when the coil to be measured is "buried" by other components, having the smaller sized unit makes accessing the coil easier.
Since the Heath GD-1 and GD-1B are the same size, I generally use the GD-1B when necessary.
I obtained my present Measurements 59 just a few weeks ago. Years ago, I had another one. But, it was left behind when I sold that particular company. The Millen 90651A was my primary GDO for a couple of decades replacing my Heath GD-1B. I obtained the Heath GD-1 several years ago just to have it because that model is pretty rare. The GD-1 didn't have the coils and the price was extremely low.
