The coarse side is good for quick removal of wood and soft materials and 
the flat and curved files work fine on light steel and aluminum.  Easier 
to control for something like the tube-socket job than the round aka 
"rat-tail" file (which is super handy too).

Even if you don't find that large plumbers reamer,  for about the same 
price as above you can get a hand reamer that goes from 1/8" to 1/2" and 
has a screwdriver type handle that is much easier to use than the old 
T-Handle types.   Sears made them in the same style as their 
nut-drivers, and I can't do a project without reaching for one of them 
to enlarge a hole to the right size.
