Yeah, the '88s are on the heavy side.  I can move mine a few feet from
the top of an Aristocrat speaker cabinet to a table next to it for
work but that's it.  Any carrying and I need help or one of those
potted plant slings to lower it to a dolly for moving.  Well, I'll bet
some guy was happy to get them for $50.  I would have paid that for
basket cases just for the parts.   I learned the hard way to not use
the filament only position, and now power mine on and off with a
toggle switch in the power cord and leave the front panel switch on
rec.mod.   The only thing mildly dissatisfying is the dial accuracy so
I'm going to eventually add an outboard digital dial display in a
separate enclosure.
