A simple way to check a VHF parasitic is to get a cheap crummy battery
powered portable FM broadcast receiver, the poorer the front end the
better, and extend its telescoping antenna and put it next to the rig
and turn it on.   If the rig is oscillating at VHF when you key it, as
it takes off, the nastiest raspy noise will blast forth from the FM
broadcast receiver.
