[Boatanchors] MBR problem

I should have been more specific in my original post;  The problem(s) are 
with the master boot record on this HP TS M7 j020jx computer.  It has the 
newer UEFI BIOS and is quite different than the older machines.

Most all of the problems that I have found lie with the computer itself and 
not with the software.  However,  I am unable to restore using the factory 
restore disks - it will go to about 30% and lock up.

The only way I was able to get it up and running was to install a version of 
Win7 Home Premimum 64 bit,  which is what I am using now.

It has been up and running for over an hour now. . . . .
