Hi Howard K3HW Weinstein:
...this isn't brain surgery science.
You remove the tube, connect (solder) the three "cathodes +" (the marking
band end wire) to pins 1, 5 & 9 the other leads (anode) of each diode are
connected thus:
pin pin
1 + diode - 2
5 + diode - 6
9 + diode - 8
If these instructions are over your head, have someone else do it for
you."

I don't think he will ever qualify to be an "Elmer"
On a POSITIVE NOTE:
I'd like to thank my Elmers - past and present:
Steve WA3IAO who introduced me to Amateur Radio in '67.
Jerry W3YVZ (SK) who taught me code, theory, and gave me my Novice Exam
back in '69.
Joe N2CX (current Mentor & Elmer) who I was honored to meet 30 years ago
when I joined the Engineering Staff at RCA Camden.
George N2APB who tolerates my software, digital, and NUE-PSK questions, and
my unintentional interruptions (due to improper microphone keying) during
Chat with the Designers (CWTD) sessions. George also offered wonderful and
professional "kit assembly" services and assistance when I thought I was
losing my sight and manual dexterity/fine motor control some time ago.
These wonderful guys make Amateur Radio what it is today. They NEVER insult
or berate those of us under their tutelage.
73's, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year to everyone...
Howie K3HW
