In the mid to late '50's everyone I knew of, including myself, replaced the
original carbon button in the T-17 with the current telephone element of the
time. Of course, all equipment was AM and many of our radios were surplus.
I used mine mobile with modified SCR-274N equipment. I still have it and am
considering trying it with my T-368. Probably need
a new element.
