[Boatanchors] Crystal sets

Thanks so much, Dave, for this story...wonderful.  Probably wonderful to a bunch of us because many of us had similar experiences.  Mine was a crystal radio built from an electronics education thingy.  Kind of pegboard with wires and lotsa clips.  Could make different things.  Anyway, I built a crystal radio and most nights went to bed listening to the Houston Buffs baseball games.  That was mid-50s and I was 12.

You said  "It was magic. And it's still magic today."  I couldn't agree more.  I'm having just as much fun now as then.  Magic.

P.S...trivia question...who were the Houston Buffs?

On my tenth birthday, my mother and I were in TG&Y 
in south Shreveport
(The WallyWorld of the 1960s... you old enough to remember
"Turtles, Girdles and YoYos?"  Hell- are you old enough
to remember girdles?).
