There were at least half-dozen different model numbers for the amplifier
depending on whether it was 6 meters, 2 meters or some frequency in
between. Definitely was a TVI generator back in the day. Have seen a
number of them at hamfests over the years. Had one here back in the 90's
but would tend to take off into oscillation. Replaced it with a Gonset
903A amplifier. I wouldn't consider the 3226 VFO to be rare as the Gonset
model 3357 three band VFO. I've had three of the 3226's here over the
years but replaced them with Ameco VFO-621's. Found the Ameco's to be far
more stable and didn't wander all over the band. Don't recall anyone
having production numbers on any the Gonset equipment. I remember talking
to the Gonset service manager back in the 90's (he sent me a bunch of
original factory books and drawings when he was clearing out his home
file cabinet), and he didn't have any production numbers.
