Dave,

No, this is strictly a soldering station. It's has connections for two
24V 50W ESD soldering irons , Hakko calls them handles, with
independent temperature controls. For desoldering, a couple of months
ago I bought a Hakko 808 desoldering gun. It is great for everything
except maybe a very small SMD board. After using it on a SX-100
refurbishing job, I don't know how I ever got along without it.

I got this 928 soldering station with the one handle (iron) and the
matching dual handle holder yesterday a flea market for $12. I didn't
really need it as I have a Hakko 927 (single handle, digital readout)
station already, but for $12 I just couldn't pass it up.
