I don't think you even get an email program with Win 7, not sure about Win 
8,  you have to use that darn Live stuff in Win 7.

It is terrible to use but I think it does have an import function once you 
have it installed.  I exported my address book from a Vista machine to a 
disk using comma separated values then imported to the Live Mail program on 
the Win 7 machine.  In XP you can export using comma separated values and 
probably do the same.

It was not easy.
