that is a good point Rob.
as I said, the last guy offering small -tube transmitter kits seemed to have no difficulty selling all he wanted. I think they sold for $109 or $139. nice simple cabinet with silk screened lettering.
crystal socket, key socket, antenna socket and a 120 volt power cord.
they sold like hotcakes.

What are Ramsey's kits? what do they do? if the kit is something
like a detector that lights up a little LED "On Air" light I can see
why they're having a hard time.
Meanwhile on eBay an unassembled AC-1 kit is at $330 last time I
checked and there's 2 days to go.
I remember about 20 years ago we had a retired Episcopal priest
visiting our church and in conversation he told a story that came up
somehow about Ray Kroc. This priest had been at a church in Oak Brook
IL back in the 1950s when Kroc was a member there. He had been out in
California to find out why this restaurant out there needed ten milk
shake mixers. Back then, most only bought one. The restaurant was
owned by two brothers named McDonald. At church that day, Ray told
people standing around over coffee, "I've got an idea to open up
restaurants and sell hamburgers for a dime each. Who wants in on
this?" Everyone looked at him like he was nuts and said, "Ray, do you
know how many hamburgers you'll have to sell to make a dollar?" No
one bought in.
Not saying the kit idea is a billion dollar business, but nay sayers
never win.
