[Boatanchors] Dental Picks

The AIDS virus is quickly killed with temps of 60C or more.  Drop a tool in boiling water and you're there.  While I don't know this to be true, I suspect the tools a dentist purchases are far better quality metal than anything you can get for $1.50.  That said, I use a scribe with one straight end and one 90 degree bent end and it works great.

P.S. I have held lead acid solder in my mouth hundreds of times when I needed three hands (which I don't have yet from mouthing the lead).  And then there's those mercury balls I used to play with.......

Hi,

From my days in public safety..

The aids virus is pretty wimpy and won't be alive on that dental tool
(or anywhere else outside a host) more than a few hours. The issue with
the dentist (it's happened before in other places) the doctor (or staff)
contaminates the tool after it has been removed from it's sterile
wrapper...and then uses it on a "victim" right away. So the sky isn't
falling - unless you are that dentist. His sky really is falling.

You aren't going to stab yourself with it anyway, are you?

I have two that I have been using for *decades*.

73,
