Steve,

I've owned a 680, a 40A, and now a 65.  They all worked well on AM.  

Recently Lee & I with two other people were all operating AM using Globe Scouts on 7260.
Fix the cap like Lee said and you'll be pleased with the rig.  I never owned one as a novice,
but think they are gems that haven't become overpriced like so many other vintage rigs.
