[Boatanchors] Coax Stripping Tools

Does anyone have the secret recipe for how to adjust a coax stripping tool?

I bought a RG-58 stripper from High Sierra Communications Products. I 
gather it is a Paladin tool although it is not marked.  I have adjusted 
the cutters, readjusted, adjusted again and still can not get it to work 
properly.  If it cuts the insulation, it would also cut the center 
conductor and braid.  If I backed off this setting, it wouldn't cut the 
jacket.  If I used RG-58 with a solid center conductor, I seemed to get 
closer but still would cut the braid. With a stranded center conductor, 
forget it.

I finally gave up and got out the box knife and ruler.
