3105 KC and the second harmonic, 6210 KC, were by far
the most common civilian air-to-ground frequencies in use
from the late 1920s all the way to the early 1960s.
It was so universal that some popular transmitters built for
civil aviation had 3105 crystals permanently wired in
with no external crystal socket. RCA AVT-110 and -111
come to mind.
If, in 1947, you flew in just about any developed country
in the world, you could find someone to talk with if
you have a 3105 /6210 KC transmitter and a 278 KC receiver.
