[Boatanchors] Canadian Shipping Charges

Why is it when you want to have a resistor shipped from Canada to the USA, the shipping charges are through the roof yet I can order something from China and pay shipping charges that are unbelievably low?  I have given up buying anything from Canada for this reason.  You want to buy a $10 item and the shipping will be $20!  Who is ripping who off?  I've sent things to Canada without paying outrages prices.  Yes the delivery was slow, however.  When I see something from Canada these days,  I just blow it off.  Costs are just too extreme for me.   (You want a $5 3 oz. vacuum tube, and it will cost you $10 or more to get it.)
