Hi Duane,

I have started getting a little more on-air time and may join the net.
I'm sorta wondering what you mean by "vintage" radios. I know what I
think about it but it ain't *my* net. The newest radio I have was made
in the early 80s and that's now more than 30 years old (and yes it now
needs some TLC and also it's all solid state). It glows in the dark -
those florescent digital dials ya know <evil grin>. The meter light
however is thermionic. The yeoman radio in my shack is a set of Kenwood
Twins. There are some tubes - yay! - and the radio is a little older -
40 plus years. I do have other radios, mostly transmitters that are all
tube (and much older), but right now I can do 80 and 40 meters straight
through with a couple af ARC-5 "command" receivers (all tube and quite
old). Most of the older gear, while working needs some "glue" circuitry
to get it all working together in a real radio station. With a couple of
radios to get on the air the motivation to build those circuits is
awfully anemic.

If I can get there I'll see you on the net with my newfangled hybrid
boat anchor.

73,

Bill KU8H
