The brand X off brand discount batteries are; but Duracell and EverReady are
still made in USA, at least if you can believe what it says on the package.
I used to try to save money buying the house brand batteries until I
discovered they don't last very long. Then I went back to buying name
brands. They are a lot more expensive usually but I guess you get what you
pay for. I'm using rechargeable batteries in things I use regularly.
