Tnx, Bill, for your orig. post. I also sent your post to a couple
of AWA lists. The event sneaked up on me and was glad to get your
info. I have a Ten-Tec RX-340 which I have used for KPH/KSM HF xmsns,
but haven't hrd them on 500kc. Boy, I would be thrilled just to
hear a peep from SAQ...congrats on hearing just a whisper. I have
hrd a few of the experimental ham stns around 500kc...good winter
time listening.

Thanks Bill,
I had intended to post that to this list, too. I posted it to several
lists and this one mist have slipped past me. I'm sure members here will
have an interest in chasing those stations. Recently I was able (barely)
to detect the signal from the SAQ station in northern Europe way down in
the noise. I couldn't really copy them so I did not request a QSL. But I
was on their frequency at the time they were on and heard a signal like
theirs at the time they were transmitting and ending when they signed
off. I also saw the faint traces of their signal on the waterfall in
"Spectran" which I use as a very effective audio processor and
panadapter. Mt RAK is the only receiver I have that will go down to 17
kc and I am pretty sure it has been gradually going deaf.
Good luck to everybody on the Night of Nights.

Bill kU8H
