[Boatanchors] 2013 myth

I, too, often do not have the energy or dexterity to replace old caps in tight, crowded chassis situations.
A temporary solution to protect the power transformer is the addition of two fuses. One fuse--as already
recommended in this discussion--in the primary of the power transformer --usually 2A to 4A.
Unfortunately, this large fuse may not react fast enough, and a HV short might ruin the power transformer
before the fuse opens. Extra protection can be provided by a second 0.5A fuse somewhere in the
HV circuit---such as from HV center tap to ground (assuming a standard circuit).
More small fuses (0.1A to 0.5A) might be employed if needed for separate HV transformer windings or taps
for bias voltages, etc.

I know this recommendation only addresses component safety issues and does nothing to bring a poorly
performing receiver or transmitter up to specs if many of its caps are leaky and off-value.
