[Boatanchors] Solar Capacitors

    I discovered that some of the flat paper caps I took out 
of my AR-88 were not made by Micamold but by Solar. Since 
they were bad I cracked one apart and found the construction 
was identical to the Micamold paper caps. I went to look up 
Solar in a couple of old _Radio's Master_ and other 
catalogues and found they were not listed. I've seen lots of 
old Solar caps and wonder what happened.  In the 1947 
edition of the _Radio's Master_ the index lists several 
pages for Solar but says "reserved". In the book the pages 
are just missing. Not removed, they were never there. I 
think Solar was a fairly large company, what happened to 
them does anyone know?
