Another example is the 6CX8 1st mixer/heterodyne oscillator in the 
Johnson Invader.  This rig is finicky about the tube used.  Some will 
work OK and others will not even though a tube tester says they are all 
good.  Sometimes you have try substituting tubes or brand of tubes to 
get good output from the mixer.
