Whew...
So I have been more or less accidentally doing some things right. I use
supposedly very strong passwords. I change them sometimes - at random
times. I have always rejected the idea of staying logged in when I am
not really. I thought maybe somebody else could somehow access my
account but my cynical imagination invented a different route. Sorta
like leaving the keys in the Corvette - engine running - with the doors
unlocked.
When we started having "address book" attacks I eliminated the address
book entries in my yahoo mail AND in my gmail. If somebody does get
access to the account at the very least they will not harvest addresses
from my empty address books. I don't have an "Address Book" entry in my
mail client. I have a text file where I can copy and paste for
addresses. I am now also going to set my browsers (yes - more than one)
to delete cookies and everything else when I am done. Yahoo won't let us
download and delete our mail via POP but i do it that way with Gmail.
I'm on the cusp of completely deleting Yahoo from my life.
This really is off topic but it can contribute to smoother operation of
the mail list for all of those useful on topic messages.
Back to boat anchors:
That Motorola 6 meter police radio I scrapped out had 23 tubes in the
little space! Most of them were crammed into ~ 1/3 of the radio! It must
have run hot enough to fry eggs!
