You can download one file without joining. To download two or more, I
think that you have to join, or at least did the day that I downloaded one.
That doesn't really bother me but the superfragilistic password has to be kept
up with and must match the specific download file (if you misplace the
password you will have to join and download it again). The files won't open in
anything earlier than Acrobat X. The one time that I downloaded a file to
help out another guy (whom they wouldn't allow to either download or join
because they had blacklisted his ISP) I had to stop and install the new software
(luckily I had already bought it) before I could proceed. And after
jumping through the password hoop to finally open the TM, I discovered that I
couldn't print anything. And I couldn't extract the two or three wide foldouts
to piece them back together and send them over to the outfit I use for
printing foldouts wider than 17". That was the other thing I was going to do for
the guy who actually wanted that manual. All in all, I wasted about half a
day trying to do someone a favor. But I'd have been just as PO'd if it had
been for a rig that I needed to work on. Because I don't have a computer in
the ET shack.
