Mine appears either factory assembled of commercially assembled by the notes
I got with it and by looks of it.

I have repaired three or four of these over the years. All had a solid wire
on the contact that broke. My unit has stranded, very flexible, quite heavy
copper wire with a large loop to permit flexing and has never had a problem.

Also note that the ratings of the 1050 are 6 amps continuous and 10 amps
max at 12 volts and 10 amps continuous and 20 amps max at 6 volts.

These units appear to be electrically identical to their Mallory cousin, the
12RS6D.
