Hello Dick (and others).......
I have an original set of docs for both the TX-110 and RX-110; you are
correct in your saying the transmitter came in two power levels. The high
power one did about 80-100 watts out, and the lower power one did typically
5-8 watts, and since the low power model didn't draw a whole lot of current
it could be run off the power supply in the RX-110 receiver. If a high
power transmitter was used with the RX-110 then you would have to supply
12-14 volts at around 18-20 amps additionally, to run the final PA stage. Let
me know what docs U need, and I'll get to work on that.
BTW, at the bitter end, Atlas sold a FEW receivers called the "RX-110
Special". I don't know whether or not it was ever advertised; I have never
seen an ad for it, and I don't think they ever printed a manual for this
receiver either. They MAY have printed a sheet or two describing the
"enhancements" over the "plain" RX-110, and shipped a standard RX-110 manual and
this extra sheet or two with the "Special" when new, but I've never seen a
thing in print for this model. The "Special" offered a couple of
enhancements over the "standard" model, most notably a CW filter function (actually
this was nothing more than a few varicaps and resistors to "narrow up" the
existing 6 pole SSB ladder filter that all of the RX-110s employed) and they
also added an RF gain control and a simple RIT circuit..........none of
these functions were in the "plain" RX-110. Adding a crystal calibrator and
an "S" meter would have been nice, but these enhancements were not added;
apparently they would have added too much to the cost. I'd be interested
in getting a copy of whatever might be out there as far as a promo sheet or
a manual for the RX-110 Special goes, if anyone out there has anything.

A nice clean looking, albeit with problems, set went over on the "evil
empire" yesterday. I was tempted enough to put in a snipe, at what I
thought was a high level. Turns out someone wanted it more than me.
It was an interesting piece and perhaps this sale will bring out a few
more from the closets.
Research tells me the TX-110 came in two flavors, 10 watt out and
100 watt out. It looks like a drop in amp board went into the XMTR.
Does anyone have any original schematics for these ? The only one
I found on the web was a pretty poor copy. Maybe someone has a set
they would part with ??
