All: By the way, 94 dBA SPL is the sound pressure level from the average
human voice at a distance of about 2" from the mouth.

If the mike is a true noise-cancelling mike that is NOT where it should be.
A real noise-cancelling mike should be about 1/4" from the mouth (that's why
some actually have spacers in front so the user can rest it against the
front of his face and have the correct distance).
