Charles, most of the hc6u crystals I have ever seen were built during the 1955 - 1970 era.
I do know that they were still making them at Cathodeon Crystals (A PYE Company) when I
worked there in 1970 - 1971. We made mostly metal and glass case hc6u style crystals all
day every day. The vacuum pumps, saws, lapping machines, grinding machines, and
frequency measuring apparatus where quite a sight to see back in those days!

I am still in occasional contact with the Managing Director's daughter, who went to primary
school with me.

I have a LARGE number of hc6u crystals here. The cast majority ware date coded for the late
1950s and early to mid 1960s. I have not seen any with a WW2 date on them, although there
might have been some. I wonder if anyone has examples?

I would like to see a picture of the MAW box. I have three other crystal boxes here. They all
hold either FT243 or FT241 rocks. There is the BX40, the CS137 and another one like a
drawer that holds FT241 rocks and has no name plate. $15 is a good deal on any crystal box.
