We are now moved into our new abode in Marblehead Massachusetts. Our fifteen
year-old started school here yesterday. But there is still a great deal of
schmeg still up at our old place in VT with which I must now deal.

I cannot believe how much there is. It fills a two-car garage as well as a
10X15' storage locker.

Storage is not the long-term answer. It has to go.

Not very much of this is junk. Much of it was dragged home from hamfesters and
flea markets over the years. Problem is that it came in piece by piece and was
stashed in any available space that could receive it. I never saw this coming
until I began moving our treasures down to MA starting in November after we
closed on our new home. It is much smaller than our VT place; only 920 square
feet and I knew even before we made an offer on this place that all the stuff
would never fit inside even if my wife would allow it.

Fortunately there is a nice 30' long two car temperature and humidity controlled
garage under the house for the things I want to keep. Now it is filled to
capacity.

Last week we emptied the VT house and dumped everything that we hadn't moved
down to MA in the two-car garage. It is full!

Besides the furniture some of the goodies include a complete BC-375 station, new
in the box BC-348, several R-390As, couple SP600s, many Collins rigs, books,
papers, car parts, military leather jackets, a Canadian WW-II #52 set and a
whole lot more.

Ya ever see the show "Hoarders"? My wife and I used to laugh at the people with
the house full of old pizza boxes and other garbage. Well this is not quite
that extreme but the bulk is the same.

Mister Mikes First Theorum of Schmeg states that schmeg expands to fill the
space available to store it. The Second Theorum states that you cannot measure
the mass of schmeg until the time comes to move it.

Yes there will be several tables of it at Marlborough MA on the 16th of this
month, NEAR-Fest May 3rd and 4th as well as on ePay and some of the mailing
lists too (including this one).

You have been warned - don't wait until you have to move to find out how much
stuff you have accumulated over the years. !

73,

Mister Mike, W1RC
