[Boatanchors] DX-100 RF delay

Does the DX-100 have grid block keying? I forget - it has been 30 years
since I owned one. If it does, I would look there to see if there is a
problem. Also, check the VFO - it may be slow in starting, perhaps due
to a marginal oscillator tube, or the cutoff bias being too high or not
falling quickly. The low drive may be a clue. Does the drive come on
all at once, or slowly build up over a short period (even as short a a
second or two)? If it ramps up, I would definitely suspect one or more
weak tubes in the oscillator and / or driver stages. Try changing the
VFO + driver chain tubes again. Replacements are not always good, even
if new. Could be something else entirely, but those are some places to
start looking.

At this point the only thing that is a problem is that there is between a two and six second delay before it puts out any RF when the plate switch is thrown. I thought it might be the plate switch and I paralleled the switch with a good one but no luck.It also exhibits the same delay when switching from CW to phone. At times after the set has been off for a while and I turn it on again I will have to readjust the driver before it will produce RF,maybe this is related to the delay problem.. Does anyone have any thoughts on where the problem lies?
