I'd sure like to see what it looks like too, Rod, as this radio seems to
have escaped the notice of the usual chroniclers like Ray Moore. I've
got a pretty good collection of Burstein-Applebee catalogs from that era
but no trace of it there, and my McGee catalogs are all more recent.
(As an aside, what a fascinating catalog McGee put out!) This sounds
like just the kind of thing either company might have featured in it's
"back of the book" section, as opposed to the traditional ham gear pages
that were dominated by the major manufacturers.
There were several pseudo-clones of the later S-120 (Monarch, Globe, and
others) but I don't think I've seen a Japanese knock-off of an S-38E before.
