Absolutely! Many column-inches in the old 20s & 30s QST magazines were consumed with diatribes about rotten operators & operating. Stuff written by QST staff and by readers, too.

I didn't realize the old timers had a soldering lab section on their FCC exams.   
I guess that is how no one back then got a license without knowing which end of  
the soldering iron was up.   You old timers think anyone younger than you are  
unworthy to have a license.  I am sure there were always plenty of bad hams,  
otherwise there would never have been a wouff hong.
