[Boatanchors] Hallicrafters PS 150-12 Power Supply

I just fired up a Hallicrafters PS 150-12 power supply.  It is a DC/mobile
supply for the SR-150 and SR-160.  I was a little surprised at how loud it
is.  Otherwise it works as expected.  Is this normal?
