[Boatanchors] Smart People: Gassy Tubes Reversable?

Bry and Dave,
There are two distinctly different "blue-glow" pheonomena, a glow on the
inside of the glass when operating the tube at high voltage, and a glow
inside the plate structure. The former is harmless, and some believe
only happens if you have a really good vacuum. It's the result of
high-energy electrons bombarding the glass. Like this:

The latter is a sure sign of a gassy tube, and cause all kinds of trouble.
Which are we talking abount.
