[Boatanchors] HP 410C repair and overhaul

My 410C has been sitting in a closet for years due to erratic operation and brittle test leads.  Then my trusty 410B died.  So even though I still have the V7-A I built in 1957, I bit a couple of bullets.  Sent my 410C off to KISS-Electronics (http://www.kiss-electronics.com) in Oregon.  They did a complete overhaul of the 410C, including electronics updates and physical refurbishment.  And the meter now looks good, and works great!  In the meantime I found a source for 6189/12AU7s with matched triode sections (Tube Depot) and got the 410B working to spec again (without matched triodes, it's pot luck getting a 410B AC/DC zero set to work).  There are no better analog meters than these two.

So this is just a plug for KISS-Electronics if you have a dead/flakey 410C.  They did excellent work and I consider it money well spent.  I have no connection with them, other than being a happy customer.
