Isolate the radio from ground and reverse the power and ground wires to
it. I did this once putting a radio on a plywood mount and it worked fine.

I could conver the electrical to 12 negative ground but it would not be simple nor would it be cheap. Is a vintage ham radio a pipe dream? What are your recommendations, suggestions, or warnings? Plus what type of antenna should Iook for? Thanks for your help.
