Bill,
Consider having the lettering engraved. About any engraving shop can set
it up on the computerized engraving machines. See my HBR and matching HBT
transmitter in the Projects section of my web site to see what the results
look like: _www.emmittsfixitshop.com_ (http://www.emmittsfixitshop.com)

I just looked at several pictures of the HBR receiver series from the 50s
and 60s and several were finished in black wrinkle/crackle paint with
beautiful white lettering. I tried water slide letters on my last project
but they did not work well at all. I'm no artist so I would never attempt
painting the letters. I have contemplated placing the letters on smooth
metal plates and then fixing the plates to the panel after scraping away
the
wrinkle paint. Does anyone have other methods I might try?
