Hi John,
Yes, I think it was a common failure item. This might not be a lotta
help, but -- I used the driver xfmr from a parted out DX-100 for either
a Viking I or a Valiant, can't remember which. So, it's a setup that's
used in quite a few xmtrs of that vintage. IIRC the orig. used a xfmr
with a CT on the secondary, but it is possible to use one without a CT,
with a balancing ckt (dtls I can't remember but have in notes).
