LORAN-A disappeared in the US in the early 1970s.

Loran-C disappeared in the US and Canada either 1 or 2 years ago, I
forget. There are apparently some chains operating in europe and
elsewhere.

The loss of LORAN-C was a serious blow to the Time and Frequency
community. The signal was huge and very reliable.

There have been apparently experimental LORAN-C signals received w/in the
last six months.
