With Dish the standard installation is up to 4 sets. My HDR is 2 sets each
with a different control. I understand Direct TV now has 5 set equipment
and ability to record up to 5 different shows at the same time. Dish has
what is called the Hopper which eliminates commercials from your recordings.
The problem with any community type service is the price and the way they
package the programming. If you haven't been a customer for over 24 months
you can get their deal to get the receiver almost free. Sort of like what
Gillette and Shick did years back, give you the razor and sell the heck out
of blades.
