[Boatanchors] Virus problems

I really believe that all of the miscreants who spend their time causing problems with operating systems, etc., (no matter what the company that designed the system), were to combine their efforts in something worthwhile, things like cancer could be cured in less than a month!

No matter what the designer does to prevent "hacking", there are those who's only purpose in life is finding a way around the security and, eventually, do so.  Then, the system designers have to find another security protection and the "hackers" eventually find a way around the security.  It is basically a never-ending spiral.

Dave,

I have heard of a couple of Mac viruses, but have no experience with them, and after
30 years of comupting have only had one or two experiences with any of that on
Micro$oft OS too. To avoid the vulnerabilities of Outlook, I have always used Pegasus
for e-mail (free) which has prevented 100% of e-mail based infections.
I use a router-switch for accessing the internet, which cuts out 99% of the web based stuff.
AVG takes car of the rest and it's free.

Why Microsoft is still so impotent and incompetent that they can't prevent this sort of thing
after this many years is quite astounding.
