were they mounted on anything?  A couple of black potted diode
rectangles about 6 inches long, each with lugs at the ends and in the
middle and bolted to an aluminum plate 6 inches x 8 inches is what
you'd find in a 1970s 1 KW bc rig with a 3 KV FWB plate supply.
