Eliminate that by using the old rack-mounting trick of putting the
screws in from the back side with the threads extending through the
panel the desired distance, which will then help hold the gear in place
while acorn nuts are attached to the front. Really great when you're
trying to hold install a piece of gear one-handed.
However I can lay the original question to rest, as I have my bag in
front of me. They are called Quick Release Rack Screws, available from
www.rackrelease.com The part number is RRSF and they say the design
is patented and over 1 million have been sold. That's the good news.
The bad news is: the website says "Out Of Stock" with no indication of
when that will change. Contact the manufacturer.
