Looking for something else on Youtube, I came across this video of a 
fellow showing off his RAL-6 - thought some might want to take a look:

At 2:38 you see Mr. Hand reach in and flip the selectivity switch to 
narrow, and then adjust the "Audio Tuning" switch, which is a built-in 
audio filter.    Then SSB reception is demonstrated.

For comparison purposes, I could tune SSB on my first receiver, a Knight 
Kit Span Master, too - but that process served mainly to expand my 
vocabulary in creative ways.
