Gene: RCA did make Amateur transmitters, but not many. The ACT40
and ACT150 (40W & 150W) were produced in the Thirties
along with their amateur receiver ACR xxx? However these would not
be a "match" for the AR-88 or CR-88, although they did use
rack panel construction.
The AR-88s were used a lot at RCA's Coastal Stations. Saw a bank of
them with chain drives tuning the receive bands at 4, 8, 12, 16 & 22 MHz
at WPA (Port Arthur, TX) years ago.
