I have tried adjusting the mica trimmer on the oscillator but it all the 
way down.  I can raise the frequency by adjusting but not lower it.

I am feeding a 5 mV 1 KHz signal to the processor.  At the product 
detector I can see the oscillator signal at the base; the signal from 
the limiting amp at the emitter; at the collector where I am expecting 
to see the recovered audio but instead see the oscillator signal.
