Hi Dave
I am currently running my complete bench on a 22.5 volt 25 amp bucking
transformer.
My line is 124 +/- a little. I am getting 99 volts with the full secondary
and 109 with only half. This tells me I am burning up about a volt in the
transformer. But it doesn't heat up more than normal. I am running a Globe
King 500 with Hammurlund 145. A Globe Champion 300A with a SP-600 and they
seem to like it fine. The filement voltage on the 4-400 is about a quarter
of a volt low but that is fine with me for tube life. Just an idea of what
to expect with a bucking transformer.
