Hi Pete, WA2CWA
A good suggestion.
The unfortunate thing is that almost nobody reads the list rules and/or
polocies when he/she signs up. Nor do they read the occasional reminders
such as you suggested.
The 'only' way that I am aware of, having managed a dozen lists since 1997,
is to covertly edit out potentially hazardous to a Ham's health posts! Let
it be known, that I have NEVER edited mail in that fashion! However, I know
of many list managers who did, or do.
Some list managers do not allow a post to be posted until they first screen
them. While this does prevent a lot of disputes, it also delays the post
from being seen by subscribers. This way of doing things is fine, but it is
impractical for all but small subscriber lists. It simply takes too much
time to do it.
The policy that former founder/owner Alan Waller, K3TKJ had was clear. I am
not absolutely certain what the policy of the new owner Scott Neder, KA9FOX
is. I will communicate with him directly and pass on what I learn.
