[Boatanchors] Spark Gap

According to a 1992 historical article in QST, in 1924, when the 80 40 20
and 5 meter bands were allocated to Amateurs, spark was prohibited on them.
The Radio Act of 1927 further banned spark from all Amateur use.
Can't locate actual wording about the ban of spark on Amateur frequencies,
but for commercial interests, no new spark installations were allowed after
1930, and spark was generally prohibited after 1940. Certain exceptions were
allowed on a non-interference basis. This according to Sterling's Radio
Manual, 1928.
Guess you'd have to really peruse the 1924-1927 QSTs to see actual dates of
effectivity for Amateurs.

The Radio Act of 1927 maybe for ham gear. Ive also heard 1924.
Some spark was still on merchant ships until around 1940.
